Dear Friends,
Memorial Day Weekend is almost here, and that means the Kaiserman JCC outdoor pools are opening for the season! We’re thrilled to welcome our swim members back to sunny days and splashing fun – now with a brand-new water heater for a more comfortable swim from day one! Plus, more shade options are coming in June, so your family can enjoy even more time poolside, safely and comfortably.
As we kick off summer, it’s also important to recognize that May is National Water Safety Month. Water safety begins with swim lessons, which are essential at every age and stage of development. Whether your child is just starting to explore the water or building strength and technique, learning to swim is more than just a seasonal skill, it’s a lifelong necessity.
Our Red Cross Learn-to-Swim group classes focus on water safety and swimming fundamentals, but they also help children build confidence, foster connection, and have fun learning alongside their peers.
We offer small-group lessons for every age: For our littlest swimmers, Water Babies (6–18 months) and Parent-Tot (18–36 months) classes. Children ages 3 and up can join weekend group lessons, progressing through Learn-to-Swim Levels 1–6 with a focus on safety, skill-building, and fun. Older kids can dive into J-Swim (ages 8–12), a non-competitive, team-style program that encourages strength, technique, and a love of the sport. Looking for a more personalized approach? We also offer private swim lessons for kids and adults who benefit from one-on-one attention. Can’t find a time that works? Don’t worry, we’ll be adding even more lesson options throughout the summer to meet demand. Not sure which class is right? We’re here to help.
And don’t forget, JCC Swim Members receive discounted pricing on swim lessons, plus full access to the pools all summer long. If you haven’t signed up for your summer membership yet, now is the perfect time. Learn more about membership options here. Let’s make this summer safe, fun, and full of confidence, one splash at a time.
Shabbat Shalom,
Alan Scher
