Jewish Experiences at the Philly J

Philadelphia’s Jewish community is vibrant and diverse, and the JCC is right at the center of the action.  And everything we do here at the Philly J is infused with our Jewish values that helps foster our diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community. We hope you will feel at home with our Jewish programs designed to be welcoming to everyone across all Jewish backgrounds, as well as families from other faiths and cultures.

Families with young and school aged children are invited to experience special holiday and Shabbat activities throughout the year. From Hannukah celebrations to Purim Fest, our special events at the Philly J are sure to be a hit for the whole family year-round. jBabies & jToddlers

Fun, engaging Jewish programming for families with young children ages 0-18 months to meet other parents/caregivers who are going through the same stages together.

This is a great opportunity for your family that we hope will fit your life and meet your family’s needs. Each 8-week jbabies & jtoddlers session will include a 6-week course of “My Grown Up and Me” classes that will offer interactive songs, play, and community building with a Jewish spin. We will also host a “Grownup” class, which will give you the opportunity to learn, socialize, commiserate, and build friendship and community. This “Grownup” class will pair Jewish Educators and Parenting experts to help you grow as Jewish parents. At the end of the jbabies & jtoddlers session, we will host a fun, celebratory Family Shabbat Picnic in a local park or indoor play space.

To help make it as convenient as possible, we will be offering the programming in two locations in the Greater Philadelphia area, one at the Kaiserman JCC, Wynnewood and the other at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia.

We are hoping you will join us for jbabies & jtoddlers, as this exciting endeavor is new to our community and will offer you unique opportunities to make connections and create friendships with other families, and enjoy play with your child, all through a Jewish lens

J on the Way

The Jewish Federation has invested in the JCC’s ability to build Jewish programming not only at the Kaiserman JCC, but farther afield in growing Jewish communities, including West Philadelphia and Delaware County. We are grateful to the Jewish Federation for a new grant that will allow the JCC to foster satellite Jewish programs with a focus on new parents and young families.

Leading this initiative is our new Director of Engagement, Barrie Mittica. We encourage everyone to be in touch with her about catalyzing new ideas for Jewish programs!
