Paws in the Pool 2025

|

Dear Friends,

As summer begins its gentle wind-down, I want to thank our swim members for making this season such a splash. From early morning laps to sunny afternoons with families filling the deck, our pool has been alive with laughter, friendship, and countless memories. The best part? We’re not done yet! We still have a few more weeks to soak up the season, and for our community friends, we have a limited number of guest passes available each day, perfect for one last summer swim with friends and neighbors.

Of course, closing the pool for the season wouldn’t be complete without one of my favorite traditions, Harley’s Paws in the Pool. This year, we’re making it even bigger by extending it into a full week of tail-wagging fun. For limited hours from Tuesday, September 2 through Sunday, September 7, our fenced-in outdoor pool and grassy area will be transformed into a doggie paradise. Both the toddler pool and heated main pool will be open for dog and owner swimming and splashing complete with a lifeguard on duty to make sure everyone stays safe (yes, even the humans). We also encourage all participants to bring a donation for a local shelter, anything from toys and treats to food and towels.

This event is especially close to my heart. Paws in the Pool is held in loving memory of my dog, Harley, a gentle therapy dog and cherished member of our community who passed away in July 2023. Harley inspired young readers, offered comfort to all, and in his retirement still loved a good stroll around campus and a late-summer dip in the pool. As we say goodbye to another pool season, I hope you’ll join me in honoring his legacy with doggie paddles, laughter, and togetherness.

For everyone’s safety and fun, please review our event guidelines, including vaccinations, behavior, and pool safety, before registering. Full rules can be found online.

Looking forward to “paws”ing our pools for the season with you!

Shabbat Shalom,

Amy
