A Message From Our Preschool

|

Dear Friends,

Last week I joined our preschool PTO for a Mahjong night with so many of our Early Learning Center families. If you’ve never played, there are a lot of tiles, rules and combinations to keep track of. And every year a new card comes out with different winning hands, so just when you think you’ve learned it, everything changes! When I asked Miss Tammy, one of our preschool teachers who was patiently teaching our group, how she remembers it all, she laughed and said, “Amy, I don’t understand how you put together all those crazy spreadsheets, but you do!”

It was a sweet reminder that we all have different strengths. That’s exactly what we see in our preschool classrooms every day. One child can build an elaborate block tower but struggles to put on their shoes. Another knows every letter of the alphabet but finds it hard to share a favorite toy. Every child has strengths, and every child has things that are hard for them.

With young children especially, practice doesn’t have to make perfect. Practice makes progress, and that progress, no matter how small, is worth celebrating. Our teachers give our children that patience and encouragement every single day.

I wish everyone could see it in action. Watching our teachers cheer on a child who finally zips their own coat, or gently help two friends take turns, is truly the best part of my job. With two locations, at the Kaiserman JCC in Wynnewood and at Temple Brith Achim in King of Prussia, there’s likely a classroom close to you. If you’ve never visited, our doors are always open, and we would love to show you around. And if you know a family starting to think about preschool, please send them my way. Schedule a tour here, or reach out to me directly!

Thank you to Tammy and to our PTO for such a joyful night!

Shabbat Shalom,

Amy Foster
