Welcome to Camp Kef!

Camp Dates 2020: June 22–August 14
(No Camp Friday, July 3)

Enrolment and Refund Update
June 1, 2020

Reminder: Friday, June 5 is the deadline to let us know if your campers will be joining us this summer.

Please click here to let us know, if you haven't already. You can certainly let us know before Friday, as well! We have a growing wait list, and would like to be able to let families know if there is a space. However, our priority through June 5 is our currently enrolled families!

Here is our updated refund policy:

If you decide not to join us this summer, you may choose from the following options regarding your camp tuition:

  1. Receive 100% of the camp tuition you have paid to date as a credit at the JCC.  This credit may be used for any JCC programs including Camp Kef 2021.
  2. Receive a refund for the camp tuition you have paid to date less a $125 administrative fee/camper.  We have reduced the regular cancellation fee from $460/camper in recognition of the unprecedented circumstances this summer.  Refunds will be issued approximately 60 days after the refund request.
  3. Convert all or part of the camp tuition you have paid to date as a tax-deductible contribution to the JCC Sustainability Fund.  Donations to the Fund will be used to support our staff, develop new protocols for safe operation of the J and secure the supplies and staff we will need to meet new operational guidelines.

If we must close camp because Governor Wolf or other government entity moves our community back to the Red Phase or reissues a stay-at-home order, you may choose from the following options regarding your camp tuition:

  1. Receive a credit at the JCC for 100% of any remaining camp tuition you have paid to date.  This credit may be used for any JCC programs including Camp Kef 2021.
  2. Receive a refund for 100% of the remaining camp tuition you have paid to date. Refunds will be issued approximately 60 days after the refund request.
  3. Convert all or part of the remaining camp tuition you have paid to date as a tax-deductible contribution to the JCC Sustainability Fund.  Donations to the Fund will be used to support our staff, develop new protocols for safe operation of the J and secure the supplies and staff we will need to meet new operational guidelines.

If your child or someone in your child’s bunk tests positive for COVID-19 and your child is required to self-quarantine for 14 days, you may choose from the following options regarding your camp tuition:

  1. Receive a credit for the value of the tuition you paid to cover the 2 two weeks of missed camp.  This credit may be used for any JCC programs including Camp Kef 2021.
  2. Receive a refund for the camp tuition you have paid to date to cover the 2 weeks of missed camp. Refunds will be issued approximately 60 days after the refund request.
  3. Convert all or part of the camp tuition you have paid to date that covers the 2 weeks of missed camp as a tax-deductible contribution to the JCC Sustainability Fund.  Donations to the Fund will be used to support our staff, develop new protocols for safe operation of the J and secure the supplies and staff we will need to meet new operational guidelines.

We have changed our withdrawal policy to reflect the unprecedented circumstances this summer.  In prior years, families would not receive any refund should they choose to withdraw their child early from camp.  This year, if you choose to withdraw your child from camp before the end of the period for which you are registered, you may choose from the following options regarding your camp tuition:

  1. Receive a credit at the JCC for 50% of the unused portion of your camp tuition.  This credit may be used for any JCC programs including Camp Kef 2021.
  2. Receive a refund for 50% of the unused portion of your camp tuition.  Refunds will be issued approximately 60 days after the refund request.
  3. Convert all or part of the unused portion of your camp tuition to a tax-deductible contribution to the JCC Sustainability Fund.  Donations to the Fund will be used to support our staff, develop new protocols for safe operation of the J and secure the supplies and staff we will need to meet new operational guidelines.

MAY 2020 UPDATE:

Hello Camp Kef Families,

We are working very hard to offer children a camp experience this summer.  Due to Covid-19, many of our camp policies are changing.  Please watch out Camp Kef Town Hall to learn more about how Camp Kef will look different this summer.  Town Hall recording available above.

We need to make some changes with regard to enrollment.  We will be requiring all campers to be registered for 4 consecutive weeks (weeks 1-4 or weeks 5-8) or all 8 weeks of camp. All campers will also be required to enroll for five full days a week, no half days. Of course you will not be required to send them all day every day, but they must be registered as such.

The day will start at 8:00am and end at 4:00pm and we will not have early care or late care.

Additionally, there will be a Covid-19 fee of $25 per week, per camper.  This fee will cover the purchase of all health and sanitation supplies, the cost of additional staff and all other necessary expenses that will help to ensure that we are able to provide the safest summer experience possible for our campers and staff.

Families with children in the Keflets unit should have received a separate form.

If you have reached out to cancel your camp enrollment and have not heard back, please complete the form indicating that your children will not come to camp this summer.

Please click here for our survey

  • If you have more than one child attending Camp Kef, PLEASE fill out a different survey for each child.
  • Filling out this survey does not guarantee your child’s space in camp.
  • If we don’t hear from you by June 1, 2020, your camper's spot(s) will be forfeited.

Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation as we all navigate these uncertain times!

Best,
Jordan and Matt
