Dear Friends,

The recent prediction from Punxsutawney Phil, who did not see his shadow, hints at an early end to winter and has us eagerly looking forward to the sunny days ahead. We are particularly excited for this summer to arrive with all that we have in store! I am thrilled to share the email that our Senior Director of Summer Programs, Katie Hausman, sent to our Camp Families this week, announcing that we have welcomed Sunrise Day Camp – Greater Philadelphia to our campus as their new home. We are so proud of this partnership, and are looking forward to collaborating for many summers to come. Dear Camp Kef Families,

As we gear up for an unforgettable summer here at Camp Kef we are thrilled to announce a special partnership with Sunrise Association. The Kaiserman JCC will host Sunrise Day Camp- Greater Philadelphia on campus this summer. We are overjoyed to welcome Sunrise Philly into our camp family, and we believe this collaboration will bring about incredible experiences and opportunities for our campers.

Sunrise Association is renowned for its commitment to providing unforgettable summer experiences for children with cancer and their siblings. Since 2006 Sunrise Association has welcomed more than 15,000 children ages 3 – 16 throughout their 11 summer day camps. Sunrise strives to change months of loneliness and isolation due to cancer treatment, into summers filled with sunshine, laughter, and happiness. We believe that Sunrise Association’s mission aligns perfectly with our values at the Kaiserman JCC emphasizing Simcha (Joy), L’dor V’dor (connection), and of course Hachnasat Orchim (Hospitality).

By hosting Sunrise Day Camp – Greater Philly, we aim to create an environment that fosters a sense of unity, compassion, and understanding among our campers. This partnership will not only enrich the lives of those directly involved but will also have a positive ripple throughout our entire camp and JCC community. Our campers will have the unique opportunity to connect with individuals who embody resilience and courage in the face of challenges. We hope that this experience will instill in our campers will the values of inclusiveness and compassion for a lifetime.

In addition, hosting Sunrise Day Camp – Greater Philly will bring increased resources and support to both of our camp programs. We are already working closely to plan how we can share resources when possible and look forward to the benefit of partnering on investments into camp. We believe that this partnership will not only strengthen our individual camps but create an atmosphere of mutual growth and a sense of community that defines Camp Kef.

We cannot wait to embark on this exciting journey with our new partners and make this a truly magical summer for Camp Kef and Sunrise Day Camp – Greater Philadelphia.

Thank you for being an important part of our camp family,
Katie Hausman
