This week, we had a taste of early spring, and it reminded me that the Jewish month of Adar is here. That means Purim is coming, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Purim is one of my favorite holidays of the year! There is so much joy and wisdom to be gleaned from this special day on the Jewish calendar, as well as the characters in the Purim story. Through Purim, we hope we can be courageous like Mordechai and refuse to bow to others’ whims, be brave like Vashti and stand up for our own autonomy and be selfless like Esther and do what is necessary to save others. And perhaps most importantly, this cherished story illustrates how we draw strength from our community. We at the Kaiserman JCC, along with all of our wonderful Kehillah of Lower Merion partners, are excited to invite you to celebrate Purim with us on Sunday, March 5 for Purim Fest ’23. There will be the opportunity to join in the Purim Story with Schtick Together, dance with the Israeli Scouts, and play games a plenty. We’ll also have moon bounces, obstacle courses, hamantaschen, balloon artists, crafts and much, much more.
Pre-registration is requested, but we will be accepting walk-ins. Sign up now, and join us for all the fun. We can’t wait to see you this weekend!
