Gems at the J | Laurel Hill Cemetery Tours of the Philly Famous

February 12 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

$90

Philadelphians have achieved a variety of notable accomplishments. We will learn about the knowns and the unknowns as we take 3 different bus tours of Laural Hill Cemetery. On January 29, we will explore the accomplished Confectioners, February 12, we will learn about the Philadelphians who broke records in Sports, and on March 5, we will celebrate Historical Women who made legendary tracks that helped to create the Philadelphia we know and love! Transportation included. No walking required, we will stay in the climate-controlled bus, with warm beverages.

1/29, Thursday, 10:30AM, Sweet Souls: Confectionery Connections at Laurel Hill West
“On this walking tour, you will be treated to the sweet knowledge of the individuals and families who invented delicious products we still consume today! Join us after the tour for a short tasting of delectable delights, invented by our residents!”

2/12, Thursday, 10:30AM, This Sporting Life at Laurel Hill West
“Laurel Hill West is the final resting place for many sports Hall of Fame members–two for baseball, two for tennis, two for skiing and snowboarding, plus hockey and college football and golf. You’ll meet the man who invented progressive resistance weightlifting, the first woman to drive a golf ball more than 300 yards, and a tennis player who was also a spy for the CIA. It’s a long walk around the cemetery, so wear good walking shoes.”

3/9, Monday, 2:30PM Wondrous Women of Laurel Hill West
Celebrate Historical Women who made legendary tracks that helped to create the Philadelphia we know and love!
