Dear Friends,
Philadelphia is about to take center stage on the global soccer scene, hosting eight matches of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup at Lincoln Financial Field this month and next. With all this energy in the air, there’s no better time to get in the game – whether you’re cheering on a pro or watching your little one find their footing on the field.
First up: Join the Kaiserman JCC for a spirited night out at the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday, July 16 at 7:30pm, when they take on CF Montreal. We’ll be gathering in Section 113 to cheer on Israeli striker Tai Baribo, who has taken the league by storm as the MLS top scorer this season. A portion of every ticket purchased through our special link supports the Kaiserman JCC directly, and if we sell 50 or more tickets, some lucky kids in our group may even have the chance for a special on-field experience! Tickets are discounted for our community, and while you’re welcome to select any section, we hope you’ll join us in Section 113 to share in the excitement and community spirit.
Next, if your kids are eager to get in the game themselves, don’t miss our Kehillah Soccer Pop-Up Family Days in Melrose Park this summer. These free, fun, one-day events offer a great introduction to the Kehillah Sunday Soccer League that we are so excited to be bringing back. Whether your child is brand new to the sport or already plays every chance they get, the pop-ups are a chance to connect with other families, meet our coaches, and enjoy an afternoon filled with skill-building games, friendly challenges, music, snacks, and plenty of ruach, all on the fields of the Mandell Campus in Melrose Park. We invite you to join us on Sunday, July 20 from 1:30–3pm or Sunday, August 17 from 2:30–4pm. These events are welcoming, and open to families of all ages and experience levels.
If your child enjoys the pop-up experience and wants to keep playing, they’re invited to join the full Kehillah Sunday Soccer League, open to children in Pre-K through 6th grade. The league offers weekly co-ed, instructional play focused on fun, skills, confidence, and community. Practices and games are held on Sundays at the same location, and need-based scholarships are available!
As Philly brings the world to its fields, we’re building something special on our own. We hope you’ll join us this summer, on the sidelines, in the stands, or right out on the field!
Shabbat Shalom,
Alan
