Dear Friends,
Greetings from Tucson, Arizona! I’m here on the ground preparing for the JCC Maccabi Games 2025, and the energy is incredible. Tucson is buzzing with anticipation as we get ready to welcome hundreds of Jewish teen athletes from around the world for a week of competition, community, and celebration.
This summer, Team Philadelphia will proudly compete at two amazing host cities:
Tucson, Arizona | July 27-August 1 | Ages 13-17
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | August 3-8 | Ages 13-17
As I walk through the venues, I’m reminded of the powerful impact these Games have on our teens. The JCC Maccabi Games are more than just athletic competitions, they’re a chance for young people to embrace their Jewish identity, build leadership skills, and form lifelong friendships with peers from across the globe.
Looking back at 2024, I’m still so proud of what Team Philadelphia accomplished. From hard-fought victories on the courts and fields to moments of pure joy during the opening and closing ceremonies, our athletes truly embodied the values of teamwork, perseverance, and community. The memories made last summer continue to inspire me as we prepare for an even bigger 2025.
If I have inspired you and you want to learn more about participating in the 2026 JCC Maccabi Games (for 13-17 year olds) or the 2026 Junior JCC Maccabi Games (for 9-12 year olds), please get in touch! As the proud Host Delegation for the 2026 Junior Maccabi Games, we’re also seeking volunteers, reach out if you’d like to be part of this incredible experience!
Follow along on our Team Philadelphia Facebook and Instagram for behind-the-scenes updates, highlights, and stories as our athletes compete this summer.
Shabbat Shalom,
Barrie
