Gems Summer Programs

|

Dear Friends,

Summer is here, and with it comes a new season of Gems at the J, our vibrant program designed for older adults and open to anyone looking to learn, explore, and connect.

This summer’s lineup is filled with opportunities to discover new interests, enjoy meaningful experiences, and spend time with friends old and new. Whether you’re interested in local history, the arts, current events, wellness, or simply getting out and about, there is something for everyone.

Join us as we visit some of our region’s hidden treasures, including Valley Forge, Harford Hall, and the historic Grange Estate, where local history comes alive through guided tours and fascinating stories. Theater and film lovers can enjoy a trip to see The Notebook play in Philly, and also check out our Beat the Heat Summer Film Series.

If you’re looking to get creative, try your hand at candle decorating, diamond art, or challah baking. These hands-on experiences offer the perfect opportunity to learn something new while connecting with others in our community.

For those who enjoy lifelong learning, our summer history and current events programs offer plenty to explore. Dive into genealogy and learn techniques for uncovering family history, discover the stories hidden in our own backyard through local history presentations, and continue our fascinating journey through Petra, Jordan with Dr. Steve. Stay informed and engaged with timely Political Affairs and Political Update discussions featuring Dr. Bill Rosenberg and Matt Kerbel.

This is just a glimpse of what’s ahead. We hope you’ll join us for a season filled with learning, friendship, and discovery.

Shabbat Shalom,

Rachel
