Youth Programs

Youth Programming at the JCC

The Kaiserman JCC provides fun and enriching programs and opportunities that foster our community of children, teens and their families as they grow. Our community (kehillah) incorporates the values of respect (kavod), kindness (chesed) and character (tikkun middot), and our programs are designed to encourage learning, leadership skills, teamwork and self-confidence. We offer a variety of activities to engage your child in social settings and introduce them to organized sports, enrichment classes and after-school care.

After School Enrichment Classes at the J!

The JCC is excited to announce our fall slate of enrichment classes! Offering Academic, Sports and Arts programming for children as young as Pre-K through 5th grade, we have something for everyone.

Sports classes will be led by Lower Merion School District Physical Education teacher Ryan Egnaczyk.  We are thrilled to be partnered with Big Game Hoops to offer Basketball Clinics throughout the fall. Camp Kef’s very own Art Teacher Sara will help your child learn the skills and technique necessary to grow a lifelong love of art.  Ms. Bonnie from our Robert J. Wilf Preschool and Kindergarten will be leading some awesome nature programming based around Jewish Holiday’s and their connection to nature. Our favorite Tae Kwon Do instructor Abrielle Fuerst will help children gain confidence through Tae Kwon Do classes and have fun doing so!

Art Basics with Sara

(Pre-K through Kindergarten)

In this class, your child will be introduced to basic art techniques, which are the building blocks that will provide a solid foundation for future art lovers and artists. Children will explore the great world are art using a variety of mediums. This unique learning experience places an emphasis on having fun while exploring creativity!

WEDNESDAY CLASS (4:30-5pm): September 14 – November 16
8 Sessions | No Class: September 21; October 5
Cost: $150 | Ages: Pre-K – Kindergarten


Artists Spotlight with Sara

(Grades 1 – 4)

In this class, students will study a different artist each week and create a project using the artists theme as inspiration. This class is for all students regardless of skill level who have or want to learn an appreciation for the artists who have left an imprint on the art world.

Nature with Bonnie

Join our Robert J Wilf Pre-School’s very own Ms. Bonnie as we explore nature as they connect to the Jewish Holidays! This class will connect the wonders of nature and how they play a role in how we celebrate Jewish Holidays and Traditions. We can’t wait for this exciting class!

THURSDAY CLASS (4:40-5:15pm): September 29 – November 17
8 Sessions
Cost: $140 | Ages: Pre-K – Kindergarten
Students from our Preschool will transition to the class from 4:30-4:40 by JCC Staff


Sports with Ryan

(Pre-K through Kindergarten)

Expose your child to a variety of sports that will include basketball, baseball and soccer. Fundamentals will be taught through fun drills and game-like situations. This class will also include games such as running games, cooperative games and many more PE Class favorites.

Big Game Hoops Basketball Clinic with Coach Chris Vernick

(Pre-K through Kindergarten AND Grades 1 – 3)

The mission of Big Game Hoops, LLC. is to provide a structured and safe environment where boys and girls of all ages and skill levels develop a passion and love for the game of basketball through high-quality instructional clinics, leagues and camps. Designed for children to Thrive in a Positive, Safe & Fun Environment. Experienced Coaching delivers a High Level of Enthusiasm, Energy & Personal Engagement

STEM with S2STEM

Ages 4-6 (STEM Munchkins)
Innovative and exciting enrichment program based on STEM. Kids will work on a new STEM lesson each week by creating, building, solving and learning.

Ages 7-12 (Afterschool Robotics Team)
Enroll your child in this super fun robotics program where they learn about different types of energy sources, storage, distribution methods, and ways in which energy is consumed.

Cooking with Chef Dad’s Table

Ages 3-4 (A,B,C…Cook with me!)
Toddlers and Pre-K students, roll up your sleeves and get ready to have fun as we stir, mash, roll, taste, touch, and smell, while we strengthen and encourage development of physical, social, and emotional skills as well as literacy and cognitive skills. This class will include lessons and storytelling combined with child-friendly, hands-on food activities related to our holiday and seasonal based curriculum

Grades K-5 (Fall Holiday Cooking)
Rosh Hashana, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, National Cupcake Day, Fall Harvest Holidays, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, National Pizza Day, and lots of surprises. The best part of these fun holidays is learning about them and of course…cooking, baking, and eating! Join us as we learn about and create some traditional holiday recipes and add in a few new favorites. We will also complete a Mitzvah Project and learn about Food Insecurity. This class is open to beginners and returning students.

Gymnastics at the J!

We are so excited to announce the return of our JCC Gymnastics Classes this coming fall at the Kaiserman JCC. Lead by our Head Coach Valencia Chang, students of all ages and experience levels will have the chance to learn and develop their gymnastics skills. Gymnastics teaches students balance, muscle control, and discipline and you will not want to miss out on all the fun!

TINY TUMBLERS (3 Years – Pre-K)
4:30-5:15pm | Max Students: 10 | Cost: $245
This class is specifically designed for preschoolers as an introduction to gymnastics’ basics. Students are introduced to fun-filled creative circuits and activities designed to improve motor skills, listening ability and coordination. Children must be toilet trained to participate in this class. 

KINDERKIDS (Kindergarten)
5:30-6:30pm | Max Students: 12 | Cost: $275
Children in this class will learn progressive skills in gymnastics. Students are taught basic gymnastics skills that increase balance, strength, and agility. Your child will experience the satisfaction of mastering a new skill and gain confidence.

ROUND OFF ROCKETS (Grades 3 & 4)
6:30-7:30pm | Max Students: 12 | Cost: $275
Children in this class will learn progressive skills in gymnastics. Students are taught basic gymnastics skills that increase balance, strength, and agility. Your child will experience the satisfaction of mastering a new skill and gain confidence.

The skill progression in this class is comparable to KinderKids, however that is not a prerequisite to take this class. Your child will work to build gymnastics skills that increase coordination, muscle development and skill level. Great for beginners and more experienced gymnasts.

AERIALS (Grade 5 & Up)
6:30-7:30pm | Cost: $360
This class is designed to is designed for more experienced gymnasts to work on skill development, as well as improve strength and flexibility. Students will work on routines that involve ariel maneuvers.

Basketball Coaching Sessions with Marques Singleton

For Grade School Aged Children

Coach Marques “OT” Singleton is a well experienced on and off the court basketball player and coach. He is originally from Philadelphia, PA (USA) where he grew up and attended Lower Merion High School. Obtained his education and played college basketball at Delaware County CC and Slippery Rock University, which was only the start of his basketball career!

Marques has been playing basketball for over 20 years, has played professional basketball for 5 years and has been coaching, training and mentoring youth of all ages for the past 3 years. He is a great motivator and loves working with children and interacts with them well so he is every loving parents dream coach.

The KidsTime program at the Kaiserman JCC is a comprehensive after-school program for children in grades K-5. You can feel confident knowing your children are in good hands when they arrive at the JCC for KidsTime.

Locally operated for over 30 years, KidsTime After-School Enrichment Program is the premier after-school care provider in Lower Merion! Our program is inquiry-based and child-driven, featuring daily clubs ranging from film and cooking to sports and art! Our club programming is based on the physical, social, and emotional development of children in grades kindergarten through fifth, with special attention paid to appropriate differentiation in the age and ability ranges of the children enrolled in the program. Our directors and staff have over 60 years of collective Kaiserman JCC and educational experience! Many of our staff were once KidsTime kids! Our directors have worked at KidsTime for over 10 years each and work hand-in-hand with the staff and your children to plan the most engaging and dynamic activities that they want to do, each week! At KidsTime After-School Enrichment Program your children will have a chance to learn new things, make new friends from all over the district, and explore everything the JCC has to offer!

At KidsTime After-School Enrichment Program our goal is to make sure that your children are in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where they always feel welcome!

A typical Kids Time day includes:
Transportation to the JCC from your child’s school, free play time, a healthy snack, supervised homework time, arts & crafts, organized sports as well as film, cooking, and book & games.

The Kids Time program runs in conjunction with the Lower Merion School District schedule. Kids Time hours are 3:30-6pm, Monday – Friday. There are also a range of special day programs and vacation programs that are offered throughout the year.
