Philly Jewish Runners

Calling All Jewish Runners.

If you run for fun, local 5ks, marathons, or anything in between then we would love for you to join our new JCC running community. Our JCC running group, will connect you with other Jewish Runners, build community, and travel to Israel together to tour and participate in a race.
Over the next 8 months, our Philly Jewish Runners In Israel group will meet for 8 sessions to get to know one another, celebrate Shabbat, learn and engage with Israel, and compete in a race as a team. Our program will culminate with a trip to Israel in January of 2026 but our group will not end then.  The connections and community that we build will last beyond Israel and continue through more races and engagement post-trip. *Runners and non-runners are all welcome.

To build our cohort, connect as a community, and to prepare for our trip, we will meet 8 times between the start of the program and our trip, January 2026.  These sessions will vary from learning about Israel, exploring our personal connections to the land and people, a shabbat dinner, local race, and more.

Trip Information:

Dates: Tuesday, December 30th – Tuesday, January 6th
Dates do not include flying time.  They are representative of days in Israel.
Cost: $4,355 (this is without flights)
*Subsidy (of approximately $1000, final amount tbd with final number of participants) available for individuals 25-45, who attend 6 of the 8 pre-trip meetings
** This cost is based on 15-20 participants.  Cost may go down if over 20 people register.

Includes:

• 2 Tel Aviv hotel nights in Dan Panorama or similar
• 4 Jerusalem hotel nights in Dan Panorama or similar
• 1 night at Galei Kinneret Hotel, Tiberias or similar
• 2 day rooms at Galei Kinneret (to shower after the marathon)
• Breakfast every day, 4 Lunches, 6 dinners
• Marathon registration (t-shirt etc.)
• Travel by air-conditioned bus each day as per program itinerary
• Experienced, licensed tour guide with the group for length of trip
• Entrance fees and activities per day
• Medical insurance (for participants up to age 60)
• Pre-trip educational prep materials and resources
• Educational resources (sourcebook) to be used on the trip

Does not include:

• Airfare
• Guests at meals, beyond the number of the group
• Gratuities to tour educator and driver
• Health insurance for 60+ (can be arranged at additional cost)
• Travel insurance (luggage, cancellation, etc)
