Why Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
We believe in the CSA model of farm to table produce as a healthier model of connecting selective consumers with the freshest, local, high quality organic produce. The Cornucopious Farm to CSA client connection fosters an understanding of the earth’s bounty and our interconnectedness with the health of our air, water, earth and soil. CSA produce has a lower carbon footprint, promotes local farming and ultimately means better nutrition. The fresher your produce is, the higher the vitamin, mineral, prebiotic & probiotic content of your food.
Low Impact Produce:
We try to use as little packaging as possible. Your produce will arrive in a wax coated cardboard box that is meant to reuse a number of times. Inside the produce box, many large items will simply be placed in the box as is without a plastic bag. Smaller items such as cherry tomatoes may be sent in brown bags.
A different produce selection each week!
Part of the joy of being a CSA member is the surprise each week of a different assortment of produce picked that very morning. Wait until you see our seed list we have procured! All organic, all non-gmo, many heirloom, very unique & special fruits & vegetables.
We understand that everyone has different tastes so please let us know your favorite vegetables & least favorite so we can try and make each box extra special for you.
Add ons:
We will offer add on items from time to time such as locally grown & harvested organic tea blends and other very specialty food items we think you might love.
Giving Back:
As a community conscious food supplier, we feel a need and an obligation to share our bounty with those less fortunate. Throughout the season, we will be donating a portion of our harvest to two local food pantries in Lancaster & Chester Counties.
We encourage you to support local food pantries as they help so adults and children.
CSA Policies:
Order that are not picked up for a scheduled pick up will be donated to a local pantry unless an arrangement may be made to redeliver.
We understand that life gets busy & hectic. If you have a full season share and can’t take delivery or pickup on a given week, please give us 32 hours notice. We can give you a credit for an extra week at the end, add on items or we can donate your box to a local pantry to be given to a needy senior.
Donated Organic Produce for Seniors:
Add the cost of a standard share of organic produce to your order and we will donate that to one of two local pantries and designate it for a needy Senior.
Buying local means you are buying small! Thank you for supporting local, natural farming.
