SUMMARY:Gems at the J | How to Locate Family Through Genealogy
DESCRIPTION:Fred started his attorney service company\, B&R Services for Professionals in 1971. In 1988 he obtained his Private Detective license and formed Confidential Investigative Services in 1991. In 1998 he became interested in his family history. He was able to locate his ancestors dating back to 1810. To date he has identified over 1200 family members. With the knowledge he obtained\, in 2005 he decided to volunteer for the International Red Cross Holocaust Tracing Service\, to try to assist the IRC reconnect Jewish\, Polish and Ukrainian Holocaust survivors. In 2006 he was awarded the local and national “Volunteer of the Year” Award from the IRC. In 2011\, Fred also started to volunteer for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Fred is helping the museum locate European children that were orphaned during the period 1933-1945. He has located 20 children survivors so far. \nFred will teach us some techniques he uses to locate individuals through genealogy. This information will enable researchers to not only locate family\, uncover distant relatives\, assist in searching for heirs\, as well as locating missing plaintiffs\, defendants and witnesses. Evidence of Neanderthal occupation dated to some 60\,000 years ago was uncovered. Neanderthals living in Jordan\, is that even possible?\nDr. Steve spent a full summer here as part of a team excavating a rock shelter\, shown above\, that dates to the time of the Neanderthals\, at least 60\,000 years BCE. Neanderthals living in Jordan. Is that even possible? \nPortions of the third Indiana Jones movie were filmed in Jordan\, come and learn if archaeology is anything like the Hollywood version. \nThis lecture takes us deep behind the scenes of life on an actual dig\, illustrated by numerous unpublished photographs taken by Dr. Steve during an amazing summer living in the hinterlands of a distant land. \nClick here!
