Then\, Dr. Steve takes us behind the scenes on another archaeological dig he worked on in Jordan – an adventure deep in the desert at a rock shelter named\, Tor Faraj. Evidence of Neanderthal occupation dated to some 60\,000 years ago was uncovered. Neanderthals living in Jordan\, is that even possible?\nDr. Steve spent a full summer here as part of a team excavating a rock shelter\, shown above\, that dates to the time of the Neanderthals\, at least 60\,000 years BCE. Neanderthals living in Jordan. Is that even possible? \nPortions of the third Indiana Jones movie were filmed in Jordan\, come and learn if archaeology is anything like the Hollywood version. \nThis lecture takes us deep behind the scenes of life on an actual dig\, illustrated by numerous unpublished photographs taken by Dr. Steve during an amazing summer living in the hinterlands of a distant land. \nClick here!
