I married my high school sweetheart Jason and we have three children who all attended school here. Actually, this school year is the first time in 14 years I don’t have any of my children here with me! My girls are now both at Coopertown Elementary School. Emily is 6 in 1st grade and Taylor is 9 in 4th grade. My son Trevor is 14 and in 9th grade at Haverford High School. Grace Metzler
Assistant Teacher

Hi! My name is Grace Metzler and I graduated Tyler School of Art at Temple University in 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in Painting. I was recently married and live with my husband and our dog in beautiful West Philadelphia. Since graduating I continue to pursue my passion for painting by working in my studio in Fishtown and participating in mural arts programs in Philadelphia. My most recent work as a painter has been a series of large-scale paintings depicting various suburban landscapes. In addition to school, family, friends and painting I have worked for many years as a nanny and have really enjoyed that experience in my life. I have been very fortunate to teach and create art with children of all ages. As an artist I am often inspired by a child’s limitless creativity and energy for life. It encourages me to break free of my own inhibitions and to trust my natural instincts while creating art. I am very excited to work with Ruth and your children as we learn and grow together!

Wendy GreenbergRuth Santone
Wendy Greenberg
Lead Teacher

Hello! My name is Miss Wendy. My passion for teaching preschoolers began as a substitute teacher at the Robert J. Wilf Preschool and Kindergarten right here at the Kaiserman JCC, where I experienced being in the presence of all different age groups at our preschool. As I thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by preschoolers, working with them and teaching them, I quickly jumped at the opportunity to become an assistant teacher in the toddler room. Having had this experience validated how much I wanted to continue to teach, help, and provide a loving, caring and safe environment for our preschoolers at the JCC. Subsequently, I became the Lead Teacher for the 2011-2012 school year for the older 2-year-olds.

I received my BA in Psychology at George Washington University in 1994. My husband, Josh, and I have two wonderful children: Eva (9 y.o. and in 4th grade) and Sean (7 y.o. and in 2nd grade). We love hiking, camping and playing Uno and Scattergories together. Our cat, Galaxy, is also a part of our family and she is a lovey. Both Eva and Sean attended the JCC for preschool. They had a great experience and both graduated from Miss Janet’s Kindergarten class.

I am a self-taught collage artist and I truly enjoy using my creative side with the preschoolers here. I look forward to the start of the each school year, meeting all of our new friends, getting to know them and watch them learn and grow!

In my spare time, I am an avid runner and plan to run in the Philadelphia Love Run this spring and hopefully the Broad Street. When I am not running, I am cheering on my two nephews Patrick and Cormac (whom I adore) at their MANY swim meets, basketball and baseball games. Additionally, I plan on returning to Chestnut Hill College this summer to earn my M.S. in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders and Trauma Studies.
