The New Americans Department sponsors a wide variety of programs for Russian-speaking Jews from the former Soviet Union, including religious, social, cultural and recreational activities. We also offer activities for children such as Jewish Children's Theater; Jewish history and traditions classes; ballet, ballroom and rhythm dance classes; seminars; Senior Adult Jewish Choir; Shabbat services; yoga and aerobics classes; ballroom dance and health club. We also sponsor community events such as holiday celebrations and children's concerts. Traditional services are held for Jewish holidays throughout the year. For Russian Speaking Seniors
Geared to senior adults whose primary language is Russian, the program meets five days a week from 9am-2pm and offers a wide range of activities. Enjoy a kosher lunch, computer instruction, cultural and educational program, a weekly Shabbat program, and lively entertainment. The KIV Club meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month, with discussions of the news of the day, cultural topics, Jewish holiday celebrations, and the opportunity to socialize with friends old and new. Join with other Klein senior adult participants in exercise classes, music and dance programs, and access to social services. Language need not be a barrier! Call Marina at 215-698-7300 x155.
