The Classes

 
The Robert J. Wilf Preschool & Kindergarten is a great place to grow! Your child can expand his or her world, learn, and most importantly, have fun in a safe environment. Our program also introduces children to the customs and traditions of Jewish life, Shabbat and Jewish holidays through the integration of songs, art, stories, food and special guests.

Infant/Toddler Room
• Full-day program: 9am - 3:30pm

The cutest room in the house!  Come and enjoy our wonderful world in the brand new infant/toddler room. Childrens ages 6-23 months can come to school and participate in many activities. Our class goes to gym, plays on the playground, enjoys music and storytime and joins the rest of the school on Fridays for Shabbat. Children learn by making friends, positive reinforcement and lots of hugs and kisses.

2 year-olds
• Half-day program: 9am - 12noon
• Full-day program: 9am - 3:30pm

Welcome to the terrific twos!  At the age of two there is so much to learn and so much fun to be had.  Our 2 year-old program will help your child begin to develop his/her emotional, physical, and intellectual skills, while teaching important social skills. We focus on developing large and small motor skills for mobility development and coordination. Our teachers provide nurturing supervision and positive guidance through consistency, encouragement and support.


3 year-olds
• Half-day program: 9am - 12noon
• Full-day program: 9am - 3:30pm

Our preschoolers will continue to grow socially, emotionally and developmentally through hands-on activities and play. We achieve this goal using process-oriented art experiences, interactive play and child/teacher-centered fun! Additionally, our nurturing staff will foster self-esteem and independence to enhance your child's growth.


4 year-olds
• Half-day program: 9am - 12pm
• Full-day program: 9am - 3:30pm

Our program provides a fun and stimulating learning environment that prepares the children for kindergarten. Our teachers encourage social skill development with imagination and creativity. Through interactive play, fun activities and a wide range of learning centers your child will develop the skills necessary for kindergarten and beyond. Field trips and classroom visitors are also part of the curriculum.

Kindergarten 1
• Full-day program: 9am - 3:30pm
• 5 days/week

Our Kindergarten 1 curriculum includes language arts, beginning reading skills mathematics, science, social studies and arts and crafts. Our teachers emphasize academic and social skills necessary for children to succeed in the grades ahead. A variety of teaching strategies are utilized - individual, small groups, and large groups. All are designed to fit the needs of the children so they can experience success. Field trips and classroom visitors are also part of the curriculum.


Kindergarten 2
• Full-day program: 9am - 3:30pm
• 5 days/week

Your child will benefit from a small class, which makes more individualized instruction possible. A strong foundation in basics gives your child a successful beginning in more formal, structured education. Language arts, reading, math, science, social studies and crafts are all integrated into the kindergarten experience. Children build and develop listening skills, attention spans, self-expression and positive self-esteem. Field trips and classroom visitors are also part of the curriculum.
