Fish School

Sundays, Mondays: 11 Week sessions:
$145 Member; $214 Non-Member

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays: 10 Week sessions:
$132 Member; $195 Non-Member

(Ages 3 - 5 years 11 months)
Youngsters work in very small groups, at their own level and pace. Developmental groups work on skills ranging from basic water adjustment to swimming skills on front and back. There is also time for some free play related to the day’s lesson. Parents may observe the first and last day of each series. All students will be screened for ability at the first lesson. Classes may be cancelled or combined due to enrollment numbers.  30 minutes lessons: 4:1 student/teacher ratio.

Octopus:
For youngsters with little or no swim skills who are also in need of adjustment to the water and instruction.

Thursdays, 3:00-3:30pm
Sundays, 11:30-12:00pm

Blowfish:
For youngsters who are adjusted to being in and under the water, and are able to perform basic Octopus Skills.

Sundays, 11:00-11:30am

Marlin:
For youngsters who have completed Blowfish skills, can perform kick unsupported, limited independent swimming and a supported back float.

Thursdays, 2:00-2:30pm

Swordfish:
For advanced pre-school aged swimmers who can perform Marlin skills independently. This level focuses on technique and endurance.

American Red Cross Levels I-IV

Mondays: 11 Week sessions: $130 Member; $189 Non-Member
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays: 10 Week sessions: $119 Member; $172 Non-Member

Parents may observe the first and last lessons of a series. Observers are not permitted in the teaching area during class time. Students will be screened for ability at the first lesson. Please try to place your child based on the class descriptions below. If you have any questions as to where your child should be placed, please ask the aquatics staff. The Minimum age is 6 years old and classes are 45 minutes.

Level I & II - Introduction to Water Skills & Fundamental Aquatic Skills
For non swimmers or youth with limited ability. This course emphasizes basic water adjustment and fundamental swim and safety skills such as front float, back float and bobbing.

Level III - Stroke Development: 
For those who have completed level I & II skills. This course emphasizes front crawl, elementary backstroke, deep water skills and extended swimming range. Child must be able to float independently on stomach and back.

Wednesdays, 4:00-4:45pm

Level IV - Stroke Improvement:
For youth who have completed level III skills. This course develops confidence and control in the strokes previously learned and increases endurance.
Mondays, 5:15-6:00pm

More Learn to Swim Opportunities

Infant/Toddler Class
(Ages 6 months - 2 years 11 months)This is a parent-assisted program designed to teach parents how to work with their youngsters in an instructional atmosphere. Classes emphasize basic water safety techniques for parent and child. All youngsters who are not toilet trained must wear tight fitting plastic pants over "Huggies Swimmers." Plastic pants are available for purchase at the reception desk.

11 Weeks, Sundays, 12:00-12:30pm
$112 Member; $162 Non-Member
 

Private & Semi-Private Swim Lessons
Ages 3 and older. For those who need more individualized attention or specific times. Private lessons are six 30-minute lessons and semi-private lessons are six 45-minute lessons. Available by appointment.

Private lesson (one-on-one instruction):
$150 Member; $200 Non-Member; Six 30-minute sessions

Semi-private lessons (2students/instructor):
Per Person: $125 Member; $160 Non-Member; Six 45-minute sessions
All students must be at a similar swim level.
